Plock Challenge 1: How to empower Immigrants through targeted support tools?

Understanding the unique needs and circumstances of work-based immigrants is crucial for providing effective support services. A significant challenge lies in the limited understanding of work-based immigrants’ diverse backgrounds, needs, and preferences. This knowledge gap hinders the development of tailored services, particularly for those from marginalized communities. Additionally, the promotion of non-state support services, such as those offered by NGOs, remains insufficient.

The City of Plock seeks a technological solution capable of integrating and processing data to diagnose immigrants’ needs and expectations and inform the development of tailored services and targeted support initiatives for immigrants. For example, the tool could facilitate referrals to relevant social services, authorities, or language courses. One challenge in designing the tool is the fragmented data held by different public entities. While each agency maintains records on immigrants from specific perspectives (social welfare, unemployment, work permits, visas), legal restrictions often limit data sharing and collaboration for immigration-related services.

The City of Plock is hosting one pilot in collaboration with City Hall employees, local entities cooperating with immigrants, immigrants themselves as the end beneficiaries of the support. Proposals offering at least 1 Polish-speaking team member and at least 1 in-person presence at a meeting in Płock will be appreciated.
