Cuneo Challenge 1: How can the well-being of young people in remote locations be enhanced?
Situated in the southwest of Piedmont, Cuneo is surrounded by the majestic Italian Alps and half of it sits up on the mountains. Due to this challenging geographical location, winter in Cuneo can isolate residents due to heavy snowfall, limited daylight, and challenging terrain. The lack of winter activities particularly impacts young people, potentially leading to depression and loneliness.
Thus, the Municipality of Cuneo is seeking technological solutions to connect isolated young people and involve them remotely. The overall aim is to improve the well-being and quality of life for young residents of Cuneo. The potential solution could be based, for example, on gamified social interactions or virtual events.
The Municipality of Cuneo is hosting one pilot in collaboration with its young residents.

Beyond physical benefits, sports positively impact mental health and social well-being. This is especially true for young people from 13 to 18. Unfortunately, financial constraints can limit sports accessibility for some young people.
The Municipality of Cuneo is seeking any digital innovations that facilitates sports practice among young people with limited financial resources. The technology should be easily accessible and low-cost in order to allow wide use and impact of the digital solution. For example, it could be a platform enabling online coaching, training or sport communities.

M.I.A.C. Challenge 1: How to provide isolated communities with sustainable food logistics?
Sustainable logistics is crucial for decarbonizing urban goods transport. M.I.A.C, the Wholesale food market of the City of Cuneo, is cultivating crowd-shipping and community involvement to foster efficient local logistics, particularly for isolated communities.
To ensure efficient goods delivery to all residents and businesses, especially those in remote areas, M.I.A.C. is seeking a digital solution that uses an algorithm to identify the most suitable food logistics. The ideal system allows users to input their transportation needs for items or goods. Based on this information, the solution identifies the most suitable and efficient transportation option. The system should intelligently manage last-mile logistics within the city center, starting from a peripheral sorting hub (located at MIAC Scpa). It should utilize zero-emission vehicles and leverage various transportation modes, including crowd-sourced delivery (individuals transporting items), professional courier services, and public transportation.
M.I.A.C. will host one pilot in collaboration with its residents and local businesses.
